The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research than any other organization except the U.S. government.
In 2000, what began as a casual conversation between friends who turned their industry’s St. Patrick’s Day party into a head-shaving event to benefit kids with cancer, has grown into the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising program for childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick’s has hosted more than 4,100 head-shaving events, shaving nearly 186,000 heads – including over 16,800 women – in 28 countries and 50 U.S. states. Thanks to generous friends and family, these shavees have raised more than $113 million for life-saving research, and each is a walking billboard for the cause!
At St. Baldrick’s events, people from all walks of life discover a power they didn’t know they had…the power to bring hope and a future to the bravest kids in the world, and countless volunteers say, “St. Baldrick’s is the best thing I’ve ever done to help someone.”
Appletree Answering Service provides integral support to St. Baldrick’s volunteers, serving as a 24-hour resource for questions relative to all areas of the Foundation, including: donation gifting, volunteer webpage management, research grant information, and general inquiries. The Appletree experts are friendly, patient, attentive and truly committed to the Foundation’s cause – an invaluable resource to this small organization with big goals. With Appletree’s professional assistance, the Foundation has raised more than $23 million for life-saving childhood cancer research so far in 2011 – making this the largest fundraising year yet!
